Gather for Life on Earth

VOLUNTEER

This festival does not happen without help from everyone attending. We require a minimum of three hours of volunteer time from each person over the age of 12. In addition, everyone will need to help clean the site on Monday; each accommodation area will be assigned a Monday clean-up job on site. Volunteering offers wonderful opportunities to meet people and make some new friends. Presenting a workshop or ritual, while greatly appreciated, is not considered volunteer time. Work shift preferences will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are a presenter, please indicate the names of those helping with your workshop/ritual so that they will not be scheduled for a work shift during this time. Here are the shifts to choose from:

  • Meal Setup/Cleanup: Setting the table, serving the food and/or cleaning up, doing dishes and sweeping the floors. We are particularly looking for people with Food Safe to help in the kitchen.
  • Grounds Cleanup: General tidying of the grounds, including garbage pickup, garbage removal and other general mess-reducing activities.
  • Gathering Ambassador: For anyone who has attended at least 2 Gatherings and wants to help answer questions on Friday night starting at the Newcomers’ meeting.
  • Children’s Activities: Under the guidance of the Children Activities’ Coordinator, or an assistant, you will help facilitate our youngest campers as they work on various arts, crafts, or other activities.

Note: We ask that all parents assume an additional shift, as well as a normal work shift, to support our children's programming.

    • Security: Our Famous "Goon Squad". Get to know your camp mates by walking the grounds and keeping an eye out.
    • Life Guarding: We need several certified lifeguards to patrol the swimming dock. If you have a minimum Bronze Cross Certification and would be willing to take on this work shift, please let us know, including your level of certification.
    • First Aid: Having first-aiders on call for the weekend makes us all safer. If you have first aid training and would like to volunteer for this shift, please give us your certification information, including the certificate number and expiration date.
    • Town Crier: Hear ye, hear ye! The Town Crier announces events and meals in boisterous fashion across the site so that everyone is aware of when and where things are happening.
