WHAT'S HAPPENING
The Gathering for Life on Earth is a Pagan religious retreat which aims to build community, foster religious discussion, and generally celebrate life on
the Pagan path. Each year we offer interesting workshops and rituals, put on by you the members; a supervised Kids' Area with lots of fun activities;
a Merchant's Area, where people show off and sell various goods and wares. We offer you the choice of tenting, or sleeping in one of the many heated
cabins on site. The site also offers hot and cold running water, and showers. Did I mention that this is also catered? Three solid meals a day, all included
with your admission. All this is offered in a private, secluded site, with fire pit, and lake for swimming in. Ready to sign up yet?
The Gathering's theme for 2008, our 16th Gathering, will be The Fool's Journey. While this has an obvious connection with the Tarot, we do not wish
to limit ourselves to that explanation. We request that if you have other interpretations of “The Fool’s Journey”, feel free to explore and expand upon it. By
sharing our ideas with others, our world expands.
This year’s Theme is already being worked into ‘The Quest’ – Yes, its back. The fun, scavenger-hunt style ritual has returned, and creative minds are already
bringing it to life. The theme will appear in various places throughout the Gathering (Confirmation packages, tokens, rituals, Children’s crafts, T-Shirts, and
much more), but that is not to say that everything has to do with the theme. There will be many events and rituals that have nothing to do with the Theme.
Honestly, it comes down to the membership. What do you feel like bringing to the Gathering? If you are looking for a relaxing place to just be; you can find
that here. If you want to show your artistic talents, be that something to sell or share like a dance or ritual; just let the board know and we will help. Speaking
of which, if you are not part of the Gathering Yahoo Group, you should join. Here we talk
about Gatherings past, and upcoming. It is also a way to share your ideas with the Board. After all, this event is put on by the membership for the membership.
Newcomers: If this is your first Gathering, you're in for an experience that's
hard to describe. It's not just great food and events, it's a great chance to make new friends and explore your path in respectful and fun surroundings. If you're shy,
we are here to help you. This year we introduce “The Gathering Buddy”. We will pair someone who has been at the Gathering before, knows all the in’s and out’s,

Theme Artwork Submission Date
Each year we ask you, the membership, to design the Logo for the Gathering. Submissions are now open. We ask that you send a Black and White
rendering of your submission to gathering@gatheringforlife.org. All art work will be presented to the Board and voted on. The winning design will replace the
current logo seen on the webpage, be a main feature on the confirmation package, and will be available for purchase on this year's Gathering T-shirts.
Deadline for submissions:
All submissions must be received by the Board by
Midnight - April 1st, 2008.
